Hoodie Tech Pack Template
Hoodies have more parts than most first collections expect: a two-piece hood, a drawcord channel, eyelets, rib cuffs, a bottom band and a kangaroo pocket. Every one of them needs a measurement or a construction note, or the factory will fill the gap with its own default.
This hoodie template covers 14 points of measure from XS to XXL, including hood height, hood width and pocket size, plus a BOM for 320 GSM brushed fleece with 2x2 rib, drawcord, eyelets and aglets.

Construction notes
- Hood: 2-piece hood with center seam, lined, joined at neckline with 4-thread overlock.
- Hood edge: 1" drawcord channel, twin-needle topstitch.
- Eyelets: set 1.5" from center front on each side of hood, backed with interfacing.
- Kangaroo pocket: twin-needle topstitched, bartack at both pocket opening corners.
- Cuffs and bottom rib: 4-thread overlock, coverstitch topstitch.
- Stitch density: 12-14 stitches per inch.
- Fabric must be pre-shrunk; max shrinkage 5% in length and width after 3 home washes.
Fabric
Brushed-back fleece between 280 and 400 GSM covers most hoodies. Cotton-rich fleece feels softer but shrinks more; a little polyester improves shape retention. Ask for a fabric swatch and a wash test before you approve the sample.
Tips before you send it to a factory
- Specify hood lining (self fabric or jersey) and whether the hood is two-piece or three-piece. It changes both the look and the cost.
- Give the eyelet position from center front, and say whether eyelets need interfacing behind them so they do not tear out.
- Bartack the kangaroo pocket corners. It is one of the first places a cheap hoodie fails.
FAQ
How do I measure hood height?
Lay the hoodie flat and measure from the high point shoulder (where the shoulder seam meets the neckline) straight up to the top of the hood.
Should the rib be the same color as the body?
Usually yes. Write "match shell" in the BOM color column, or name a contrast color if you want one.
