Polo Shirt Tech Pack Template
A polo shirt adds three details a t-shirt does not have: a knitted collar, a buttoned placket and side vents. Each of these needs its own measurement and construction note. This template includes 12 graded points of measure, a cotton pique BOM with flat-knit collar, cuffs, buttons and interlining, and placket instructions.

Fabric
Cotton pique around 200–240 GSM is the classic polo fabric. Collars and cuffs are usually flat-knit to match; ask the factory to dye them with the body fabric so the colors match.
Tips before you send it to a factory
- Specify the number of buttons, button size (for example 18L) and whether buttonholes are horizontal or vertical.
- Fuse the placket. An unfused placket wrinkles and twists after the first wash.
- Give side vent height and ask for a bartack at the top of each vent.
FAQ
How is collar length measured?
Measure along the neckband seam from one end of the collar to the other with the collar laid flat.
Can I use jersey instead of pique?
Yes. Change the shell fabric in the BOM and re-check body measurements on the sample, because jersey drapes differently.
